2018-01-22

Haugesund/Esbjerg, 22 January 2018:

RG Hagland AS (“Hagland”) of Haugesund, Norway, and North Sea Shipbrokers ApS (“North Sea”) of Esbjerg, Denmark, announced today that they are combining their shipbroking activities towards the renewables market, thereby strengthening the services offered to clients in this growing market segment.

The parties have entered into agreements whereby Hagland acquires 49% of the shares in North Sea through a combination of share purchase and subscription of new shares. In all matters related to the renewables market, North Sea and Hagland’s offshore department will act as one team and renewables business will be conducted through North Sea, renamed to North Sea Hagland Shipbrokers ApS. Anders Helsinghoff Fjord will be Managing Director and head of the renewables team in North Sea Hagland Shipbrokers ApS, while Tommy Sandtorv will be head of the renewables team working out of Haugesund.

The two parties will also cooperate in other relevant areas, strengthening the service offering within other segments such as subsea, oil and gas, tugs, and sale and purchase.

– We are very pleased to have formalised the already strong cooperation between North Sea and ourselves, say brothers Arne and Knut Wendelbo Aanensen, joint Managing Directors of Hagland. – North Sea has a strong position in the renewables market, and we firmly believe our combined experience and knowledge will enable us to offer even better shipbroking services to charterers and ship owners, underpinned by North Sea and Hagland sharing the same values, high ethical standards, and long-term commitment in the industry.

– I am very pleased to have a long-term and respected company like Hagland being committed to contribute in developing the company further, says Director and owner of North Sea, Anders Helsinghoff Fjord. – We will with this acquisition be in an even stronger position, covering the industry from the offices in Norway and Denmark, and have the size to expand even further. It is very important for me to do this together with a family owned company as Hagland, who share the same values and have the same approach to the market as we have.
